The Capt. Wendell M. Wilson Office of Military and Veteran Services at University of Houston-Clear Lake invited faculty, students, staff and veterans to commemorate Veterans Day in Atrium II of the Bayou Building on campus today.

The event featured remarks from UH-Clear Lake President Richard Walker, as well as Jason Babin, executive director of Military and Veteran Services. Seventh-and-eighth-grade choir students from Friendswood Junior High sang patriotic songs, and John Oyerbides, Capt. Wendell Wilson, and Anna Marie Detter also shared stories about their experiences in the military.

There are over 700 military-connected students at UHCL, which includes active duty, reservists, National Guard, veterans and their dependents.
