Registration for the summer and fall semesters at University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) is now underway. Whether students are looking to pursue a career, change careers, or move up in their current career field, UHCL provides opportunities for students to grow both professionally and personally.  As a UHCL student, students gain resume-building experience in programs that combine hands-on projects with real-world training. With flexible course formats available that allow students to learn on their own schedules, they get a unique college experience tailored to their individual needs. That is “an education that gets you.”

Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment Brandon Byrd said the goal of UHCL’s Admissions department, is to give students a personalized experience and interaction with faculty, staff, and the entire student body.

“The resources that we provide for both incoming and current students during their academic journeys’, along with the social activities we have on campus, keep students engaged.  We have both the academic and social components needed for them to be successful,” said Byrd. “Students are getting their money’s worth when it comes to the quality of education, and the amenities and affordability we offer surpass larger universities.”

Furthermore, Byrd explained that UHCL provides a seamless registration process, and a wide array of programs for students to choose from when registering for courses.

“Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with an advisor to explore and review degree plans, understand their degree requirements, and create a plan to graduate,” said Byrd. “Again, that goes back to the personalization we offer, and the advantage of attending a school in a smaller setting,” he explained. “We make sure students are accomplishing what they need to accomplish in their degree plans’, and within a certain time frame.”

Byrd also mentioned by enrolling in summer courses at UHCL, students can accelerate progress toward their degree, lighten their course load, have the opportunity to explore internships and make up credits.

At UHCL, students have the power to determine their flight plan to success, and it starts by finding the degree program that is right for them. All four UH-Clear Lake colleges — Colleges of Business, Education, Human Sciences and Humanities, and Science and Engineering — offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, professional certificates, specializations and minors. To enhance accessibility and convenience, UHCL has expanded its course offerings, including more classes at UHCL Pearland and online. Additionally, UHCL is committed to providing an affordable education, with a typical 3-credit hour course priced at $1,200.

Summer registration ends on May 31, 2024, with classes beginning on June 6. Fall registration concludes on August 16, with classes starting shortly thereafter on August 19. Students should register as soon as possible to secure their places in classes, access important resources such as academic advising and financial aid, and experience a smooth stress-free transition into their academic journeys’.
